Tweak

With all the synthesizer parameters immediately available on one page, you get instant feedback as you tweak.

The two LFOs each have three modulation destinations. Each LFO may also be free running or sync'ed to tempo and the timing rate adjusted.

The modulation matrix allows for deep routing between the Mod Wheel, aftertouch and 16 x 4 analog-style gated step-sequencer.

Perform

The classic arpeggiator is complimented by the 16 x 4 gated step-sequencer. Play a note to trigger the sequencer.

Step through a sequence to play short melodic lines or let it modulate the synthesiser. Each of the 4 tracks have an assignable modulation destination and loop point.

Adjust the velocity by tapping along the length of the key from top to bottom. Change the key mode to mono for retro lead lines.

Share

The live phrase recorder lets you save your performances as 44.1KHz 16-bit WAV files and as a Standard MIDI File. Upload the WAV file to SoundCloud

The recorded MIDI File includes all the knob's control change information along with the notes you play.

Use Sonoma AudioCopy or Intua Audio Sharing to paste recorded audio directly into other apps.

E-mail the patches you make or share them over Wi-Fi

Support

Frequency asked questions and other support options:

The Arctic Keys user manual is available as a PDF downloadable from here: User Manual v1.1.0
We have prepared a press release and screenshots available as a ZIP file from here: Press Kit

Starting with version 1.1.4, Arctic Keys now includes two delay effects. The default delay operates like a typical digital delay and this is the ideal delay to use but it might cause existing patches to sound differently. Therefore, we have also included a Legacy Delay Effect from previous versions of Arctic Keys.

To activate the Legacy Delay Effect. From the Home screen choose Settings > Arctic Keys > Legacy Delay Effect.

From version 1.1.7, Arctic Keys now only includes a bank of 64 presets exclusively made by Sunsine Audio. The original presets can be downloaded from here: Legacy Presets

The Sunsine Audio factory presets can be downloaded from here: Factory Presets

Arctic Keys can use a lot of CPU particularly on the iPad 1 and iPhone 3GS. The CPU usage can be seen by changing the settings on the peak meter. In the top right of the app, tap the "Pref." menu button and select "Interface Operation". Then set the Peak Meter to CPU. The longer the bars, the more CPU the app is using. If you experience audio pops when the bars are nearing the red zone, you are using too much CPU.

It is recommended that you run as few background apps as possible to maximise the available CPU. Please close unnecessary applications. You can do this by double-clicking the Home Button to bring up the Multitasking Bar, tap and hold the app icons until they wobble, then tap the close icon to shut down the app(s).

Arctic Keys Requires iOS 5.0 or later and is compatible with these devices: iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (3rd generation), iPad 2, and iPad 1.
